Plain language on purpose. If any of this is unclear, ask before paying.

What this service is

Calculators and document preparation. The tools compare figures you type in against published rates and rules. Every check is free, including the ones that find nothing. If a check does find something, you can buy a pack: the letters written, the official form filled in from the answers you already gave, and a short guide saying what to send, where, and in what order.

Where an agency publishes a form for your situation, the pack fills it in: ACC4618 in the ACC employer pack — that form is addressed to employers and is not sent to sole traders; Inland Revenue's IR886 tax residence questionnaire in the left-New-Zealand pack; and your council's rates rebate application in the rates pack. Boxes only you or the agency can answer are left blank and listed, with who answers each one. You read it and you sign it.

The ACC sole trader pack does not include ACC4618, because that form is for employers. Self-employed levy details are changed in MyACC for Business, so that pack is a step-by-step walkthrough of the portal with the exact wording to paste, plus your keep-this report. If you would rather do it on the phone, the pack gives you the number and what to say.

The donation rebate check is free and does not include a filled form. Inland Revenue's donation claim form is the IR526, and you file it yourself in myIR — the check tells you what you need and what it is worth doing.

What it is not

• Not your agent. We never act on your behalf with ACC, Inland Revenue, a council, a KiwiSaver provider, an employer or anyone else. We hold no authority to act, we never contact anybody about you, and we never ask for your login to any of them. Everything is sent by you, from your own address, under your own name.
• Not the decision-maker. The agency decides, and it calculates any amount from its own records. Our packs are written to ask it to do exactly that, rather than to assert a figure at it.
• Not advice. Results are estimates produced from your inputs and published data. They are not financial, tax or legal advice, and no outcome is guaranteed — the deciding agency decides.
• Not a data collector. Figures you type stay in your browser. See the privacy statement.

Payment and refunds

Every pack is a one-off purchase. Nothing renews, there is no account, and no card is stored with us. No GST charged — under the registration threshold.

• $9.90: Everything personal.
• $17.95: ACC levy — sole trader.
• $39: ACC levy — employer.

You only ever see a price after a check has found something. No finding, no charge.

If the pack is wrong, broken, or not what this site said it was, we refund it in full. Tell us what is wrong through the contact page and it is done. That is a guarantee about our work rather than a change-of-mind window — the pack is delivered the moment you pay and cannot be handed back.

Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which apply whatever we write. Payment is processed by Stripe, who handle the card details — we never see or store them.

Accuracy and liability

We take accuracy seriously enough that the site refuses to show you a figure it has worked out for you — an estimate, a shortfall, a rebate — until the rates behind it have been checked against the agency's own published document. You will see that refusal happen; it is the product working. The headline statistics elsewhere on the site are a different thing: they are published third-party numbers, each attributed where it appears, and they are labelled with what kind of number they are. Even so: estimates depend on your inputs, agencies calculate from their own records, and to the maximum extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising from use of this site is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be limited.
